![]() The Faculty of Engineering coordinates three license agreements with MathWorks on behalf of the UVic community that enable access to MATLAB, Simulink, and many toolboxes by faculty, staff, and students for teaching, research, learning, and support thereof. Those looking to install Matlab on university owned computers and in labs should look under Academic, while students and others looking to install it on their personal owned computers should look under Student. This includes 105 Matlab and Simulink features, and additional products like MATLAB Online, Parallel Server, Grader, Web App Server & Production Server as well as Polyspace, RoadRunner and their Online Training Suite. The Faculy of Engineering has negotiated a new Campus-Wide Suite agreeement that replaces and extends all our agreements providing unlimited use of all MathWorks Academia products to UVic students, faculty, staff & researchers (including our historic partners at ONC & Triumf), on and off campus, on any device. New in 2021, renewed for 2022 and now 2023: Unlimited "free" access to all MathWorks academia products, anytime, anywhere Matlab software has been in use at UVic since the 1980's and its popularity keeps growing as it spreads beyond its traditional Science and Engineering base. MathWorks produces over 100 additional products for specialized tasks such as data analysis and image processing. Simulink is a graphical environment for simulation and Model-Based Design of multidomain dynamic and embedded systems. ![]() MATLAB, the language of technical computing, is a programming environment for algorithm development, data analysis, visualization, and numeric computation.
